Short: Fast Mpeg video play 1&2 + sound 68k/AGA/CGX
Uploader: amigaever@yahoo.com.ar
Author: amigaever@yahoo.com.ar
Type: gfx/show
Version:1.1
Requires: 020/AGA/CGX
Replaces: gfx/show/VideoMPEGA.lha
The fastest and better way to play Mpeg video files 1&2 with sound for AGA/68k users
18 bits true colors or 8 bits grayscale output
Good news :
-"Blazewcp" patch by Rick Pratt speedup framerate very much
due amipeg use OS chunky to planar routines
so install it yes or yes
-included as well
Last changes:
-added CyberGraphics launch & Opus5 filetype
-added better audio sync
-minor changes on requesters
Introducction:
Well ..all mpega players for the Amiga now are really slows and bads
buggy gui..no play and stop buttons ..
even these for ppc & gfx boards
mpeg 1/2 video source is public domain and there are lot of documentation on the net
so no excuse to make a good video mpeg player or update for example AMipeg V 1.1
-AMipeg 1.1 is fast and good and can be modified to play at full speed mpeg2 anims with sound
this package is an example of that
(source of Amipeg 1.1 is on aminet)
This little proggy is the best option if you have a 040 or 060/AGA
it can play mpeg 1/2 video format on AGA at 18 bits true colors or grayscale with sound
and will work on GFX boards as well
Requeriments:
-lot of ram
-020 or higher
-060/50mhz or better recomended
Installation:
1-copy mpega,amipeg,BlazeWCP and splitter to c:
2-copy mpega.library and asyncio.library to libs:
3-add a line in the user-startup: "c:blazewcp" (not requerided but ultra-recommended)
4-copy the correct opus 5 filetype included to Dopus5:filetypes/ (optional)
AGA users:Please note that if you are using any vga monitor make sure that you
have selected "mode promotion" on Icontrol preferences
Usage:
doubleclick on VideoMPEGA icon and select any mpeg video file
then choice betewen colour output or grayscale output
or
doubleclick on any mpeg video file on Dopus5 if you have installed the filetype included
Last notes:
-don't load long anims unless you have enough ram space
-ram is used for faster playback speed
-copy to Dopus5 only one of the filetypes included (not both)
-if you have a ppc board don't replace your ppc-mpega.library for this 68k one included
-ppc procesor will be used for audio if you have a ppc board
-if the audioo is not syncronized very well is due you need a faster cpu
-don't forget install BlazeWCP...it will increase framerate speed
Thanks to:
all Amipeg developers
Stephane Tavernard: for Mpega & mpega.library
Sebastian Jedruszkiewicz: for splitter
Rick Pratt : for the ultra fast BlazeWCP
all ppl who has mailed me about this
Have fun!
